Originally written by Makiburo, Akuyaku Reijo no Naka no Hito first appeared on the self-publishing platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō in May 2020. ✏️ Manga Adaptation by Nazuna Shiraume

The manga version, illustrated by Nazuna Shiraume, began serialization on pixiv Comic in November 2021. After a successful run, the series wrapped up in May 2025. The final volume is scheduled for release on June 25, 2025. So far, the series has surpassed two million copies sold and even ranked 8th in AnimeJapan’s Manga We Want to See Animated poll.

💔 A Story of Love, Loss, and Revenge

The plot follows Emi, a devoted fan of otome games, who is reincarnated as Remilia, the villainess of one of her favorite titles. Initially, Emi tries to rewrite Remilia’s tragic fate and earn her a better life. However, after a cruel betrayal by the story’s heroine and Remilia’s fiancé, Emi’s consciousness fades. That’s when the real Remilia awakens—fully aware of everything Emi tried to do—and vows revenge for both of them.

At this stage, no staff, studio, or cast information has been revealed. However, the launch of an official X (formerly Twitter) account signals that updates are on the way. With both manga and novel readers already invested, excitement around the anime adaptation is building quickly.
