Behind the scenes, most of the original team is returning—but there are some new hands in the kitchen:

  • Assistant Director: Kenji Takahashi (Spy×Family, The Rose of Versailles 2025)
  • Character Designers: Tsuyoshi Kuwahara joins Nao Ōtsu
  • Chief Animation Directors: Shiho Tanaka & Eriko Itō take over the role
  • Art Supervision: Hisako Akagi steps back; Tomoki Nagino joins as art director

Studio MAPPA is still handling production, promising the same high-quality animation and mouthwatering food visuals.

📘 Based on a Tasty Light Novel Hit

Written by Ren Eguchi and illustrated by Masa, the original light novel series has been simmering since 2016. Its blend of cozy worldbuilding and culinary fantasy made it a surprise hit. There’s also a manga adaptation by K Akagishi, and both are available in English via J-Novel Club.

🍛 Quick Recap: What’s Cooking?

When ordinary salaryman Tsuyoshi Mukouda is mistakenly summoned to a fantasy world, he’s gifted not with battle skills—but with “Online Grocery.” Armed with convenience store ingredients, he wins over legendary beasts and gods alike… one hearty meal at a time.
