World After the Fall Gets Anime Adaptation

A It’s a great time to be a fan of Sing Shong, the author behind Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. Not only is Omniscient Reader getting both an anime and live-action adaptation, but Sing Shong’s other webtoon series, The World After the Fall, has also been picked up for an anime.

This dark, action-packed series follows Jaehwan, an ordinary young man thrust into an apocalyptic world where mysterious towers appear, spawning deadly monsters. Chosen to climb the tower and fight back, Jaehwan uncovers disturbing truths about the world with every floor he ascends.

🎬 Studio Behind the Upcoming Adaptation

The World After The Fall Vol. 1 Cover

Unlike Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, which is being produced by Aniplex and Crunchyroll, The World After the Fall is being adapted by Studio EEK, a South Korean animation studio.

Studio EEK has been expanding into more high-profile projects recently. Including the Tomb Raider King adaptation and a short anime-style promo for BTS’s 7Fates: Chakho. While not as well-known internationally, the studio has shown a flair for fluid animation and beautifully detailed backgrounds in its recent work.

🌍 A Rising Trend in Manhwa Adaptations

The incredible success of Solo Leveling has kicked off a new era for manhwa-based anime. With high viewer demand, studios are now taking more risks by adapting Korean webtoons. Diversifying the anime space with unique storytelling, pacing, and aesthetics that differ from traditional Japanese series.

As more adaptations roll in, The World After the Fall stands out for its emotionally gripping story and heavy themes of survival, loss, and determination. Fans of post-apocalyptic fantasy and deeply layered protagonists should keep this series on their radar.

📅 When Can We Expect the Release?
